The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs will host a Directors' Seminar with James Traub on Thursday, October 2nd in the Belfer Center Library (L369).

James Traub is a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine, where he writes about international affairs as well as national politics and policy. His most recent book, The Freedom Agenda: Why America Must Spread Democracy (Just Not The Way George Bush Did), has just been published. He has also written for The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, Foreign Affairs, The Atlantic Monthly, The New Republic and others. His articles have been widely reprinted and anthologized. He is the author of four books, including, The Best Intentions: Kofi Annan and the UN in The Era of American World Power.

Mr. Traub has also written for The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, Foreign Affairs, The Atlantic Monthly, The New Republic and other magazines. He is the author of four books, including The Best Intentions: Kofi Annan and The UN in The Era of American World Power hailed by Foreign Affairs as "one of the most definitive and accessible studies of the UN and its chief executive ever published."

A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University, Mr. Traub serves as the director of policy for the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect.
